Neck, Shoulder
and Arm pain
The cervical spine in the neck is the most vulnerable part of the
spinal column, largely due to its great mobility and the weight
of the head that it supports. Over many years our necks are subjected
to a great deal of stress and minor injuries, which can result
in stiffness, aches and pains not only in the neck but also in
the shoulder and the arm. Activities such as using a computer,
driving for long periods of time and repetitive work all take
their toll on the healthy functioning of the neck. The nerves
that exit from your neck go to supply and control the shoulder,
arm and hand, so often the first symptom of a neck problem will
be pain or pins and needles in one of these areas.
Unlike painkilling medication which only addresses the symptoms,
a chiropractor will perform a thorough examination in order to find
out the true cause of the problem.
